Things I love, random edition

March 17th, 2010 · 15 Comments · Humor: You're laughing WITH me, right?, Linkiness, Pics, Stuff you need to know about, Things I like

Sittin in a noisy Starbucks, listening to the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack on my earbuds.

(Jai ho!!!!)

Trying not to get up and dance. And thinking that then again, maybe a little dancing would do me good, what with the accidental exercise it would involve.

But then I’d have to explain my silent Bollywood moves to all the other customers. So I think I’ll pass.

By the way, I loved Slumdog Millionaire, and not just for the music. A real AND redemptive story that I recommend very much.

Some other things I love and recommend:

This new book I’m reading with possibly the Best. Title. Ever. It’s about this chick who’s totally irresponsible and flighty, and then she gets married and has a kid and starts to grow up. And she cracks herself up.

(I have no idea why I like it so much…)

The title: From Beer to Maternity.

I KNOW. GENIUS.

The author, Maggie Lamond Simone, is a columnist, and this book is essentially a compilation of columns she wrote in the midst of finally accepting adult responsibility, getting married, having a new baby, etc.

(Again, NO IDEA why this book entertains me so…)

(In the interest of full disclosure, I received a free review copy. With no expectation of a good review. But I only accepted because I figured I’d like it. Because, HELLO? From Beer to Maternity. And like it I did.)

Another thing I love:

Incredibox. If you’ve ever wanted to create your own cartoon beatbox mix featuring a bunch of identical trendy French guys…

(What? You haven’t? Well anyway…)

…you should click over and play with this. And two hours later, send your special mix to all your friends so they can also lose a portion of their day.

A gadget-y thing I love:

This.

What’s that you ask? How is a fayncee leather-bound book related to gadgets in any way? Well check THIS out:

Wait. I just felt a disturbance in the force. As if a million Apple fanboy voices screamed and then suddenly went silent.

(And to disclose, I bought the BookBook with my own money. It was worth every penny of the $79.99.)

That’s probably enough for today. I don’t want to overwhelm you with too much awesome.

Dancin’ is what I love. With and without music. Now that they no longer play music in the supermarkets I frequent, I am forced to dance to the music in my mind…

That book book is cool. It would actually make it look like I read instead of tweet.

I Love Slumdog Millionaire, too. And Jai Ho. And I am known to occasionally dance to the music. But not in public. Usually.

Big fan of the Slumdog soundtrack…I don’t think anyone would blame you for dancing.

Love the bookbook! Very cool….now I need something to put in it.

All really cool things that I would love too. Faves from your list: From Beer to Maternity (will have to put it on my reading list) and the Book Book – how cool is that? – and the fact that you mentioned apple fanboys (or girls).

Car dancing is always fun too. If you have a chance, check out my friend’s video project on car dancing: http://www.jungleoflife.com/2010/03/17/car-dancing-the-video/
