In which I compare myself to a Muppet

Christmas is 13 days away?!

GAAA.

Fall is usually a busy time for me, but after years of dealing with multiple birthdays PLUS regular holidays, I’ve achieved a kind of rhythm that sees me through until January. Here it is, starting September 29:

  • 9/29 Birthday, birthday (mine & family friend’s)
  • 10/2 Birthday (nephew)
  • 10/25 Birthday (son)
  • 10/26 Birthday (daughter)
  • 10/31 Halloween
  • 11/15 Birthday (daughter)
  • Thanksgiving
  • Weekend after Thanksgiving – Decorate for Christmas
  • 11/30 Birthday (nephew)
  • December: shopping, concerts, recitals, parties, crafts, traditions PLUS
  • 12/21 Mom and Dad’s anniversary
  • 12/23 Birthday (nephew)
  • 12/25 Christmas

For this year, you insert an early November trip to New York, then Thanksgiving at the beach, then prolonged illness for 1 or more of us…, and I’m about 60 days behind.

I just now got into the Christmas spirit, and now I AM SICK AGAIN. Ugh.

As I sit here in bed trying to get well before tomorrow night’s church board Christmas party, Charlie’s out finishing the Christmas decorating.

At this rate, I don’t expect to “catch up” until March.

Which is why I so relate to this Muppets video:

Poor Beaker; he didn’t stand a chance.

May your Christmas season be DING DONG free.

Would it make you feel better if I told you I don’t have my spring cleaning done yet? From two years ago? Decorating doesn’t happen unless the house is clean. I’m counting on snow to be my decor this year.

I’m so sorry you’re sick again. Sending prayers your way, and also to Beaker because you’re right, he didn’t have a chance. Now fix yourself a pot of tea and don’t stop drinking it until you’re well. Nurses orders.

We’re trying a vacation with the whole family over Christmas, but moving just before added extra stress. I’m still excited to try it out. We’ll see if it feels like Christmas on a cruise (I’m willing to bet I’ll manage). Merry Christmas (whenever you finally get to have it) :)

Sorry to hear you’re sick again. But you’re still ahead of me and I haven’t even been sick. Not one decoration up yet! We’re still having the debate: live tree or fake?

Feel better soon! And a collective GAAARRGGHHH that you are sick again.

I’m sorry you are sick again. You poor girl.

By the way, I am convinced that all 6 of our grandchildren’s birthdays from Oct. to Dec. were a well planned sadistic conspiracy between you and Suzy to put your dad and I in the poor house. You get no sympathy from me. :)

I heart Beaker. Sorry you’re feeling crappy again.

    Poor Beaker. Poor Steph.

I hope you feel better soon.
