Wanna know how random this post is?
I just named it after a fictional show on Demi Lovato’s new Disney Channel show, “Sonny with a Chance.”
That’s how random.
(I know: I am way too knowledgeable about children’s programming.)
Anyway, first, I want to thank my lovely commenters for the warm (and absorbent) response to the Wearable Towel.
Look for a package in the mail from me at Christmas.
(And Wendy, I’m totally dyeing one leopard-print for you.)

So I’ve spent most of today on the Twitter. Regaling my followers/friends with hilarity. At least as far as you know.
Seriously, though. I’m not making any promises, but if I get around to writing a Twitter Ho-down post for Friday, it’ll make you just laugh and laugh…

Yesterday was our first Monday of school. Which obviously deserves more attention than the first DAY of school.
First, because hello? Monday. And B, because it was the first night the kids had homework.
So guess how much drama I endured after the kids arrived home.
Yeah. Even more than that.
From 2:45 until 5, all three children dealt with their homework in their own special way.
Abby disappeared. One minute she’d be going to the bathroom, and then an hour later I’d find her playing in her room.
LC alternated between “I can’t DO this!” and “I don’t WANNA do this!” He also only did half his homework because he’d forgotten to write his math problem down.
Hannah had a total of -lemme count- yeah, FIVE meltdowns. Mostly on how I was PURPOSEFULLY misunderstanding her and REFUSING to just answer her question about her IMPOSSIBLE writing assignment. After all that, she disappeared for 20 minutes and returned with it complete.
Is it any wonder I needed a break today?

In other news, I did Wii Fit this morning. The yoga trainer had gotten so tired of waiting for me to come back that she asked the guy to take her shift. She came in later and cussed me out though, so we’re all good.

What else? Oh. Have I mentioned that I have an iPhone? Well, I pink fuzzy heart its Kindle e-book app. I’ve read more novels in the past 4 weeks than I had in the 6 months before. Now I have something to do when I take the kids to piano and gymnastics and such.
Right now I’m reading The Glass Castle. Which is a memoir about a childhood so dysfunctional that it would make Eminem say, “MAN, I had it EASY.”
(And also, for some reason is not yet released in hardback. But it IS in paperback. And Kindle edition. And audio. New publishing strategy?)

Okay. That’s all I can think of. Bye. I’m off to rejoin the Twitter party.

I did Wii Fit this morning, too. It got kinda self-righteous with me. It was all, “Where you been?” And I was all, “I was busy, a’ight?” Then, ponytailed Yoga guy gave me the stinkeye during downward dog.
It was a good workout.

Ahh, we haven’t started back to school yet, but thanks for reminding me of the joys!

We get to START school next Monday. Yes, that’s the first day of school on Monday. Whatever happened to easing them in by starting on a Wednesday or Thursday with half a day?

You are hilarious. Today was my first day of pre-school and I am a different woman than I was yesterday. Thankfully no homework, yet.
And WHAT on the yoga trainer??

I read that book, too. I was shocked by how clueless her parents were.

Yes, if ever there was a book that made me feel like a fantastic parent, it would be the Glass Castle.
And that lady Yoga trainer is a total nag. I use her as the comparison when I want my husband to think I’m great. SEEE….aren’t you glad I’m not as awful as HERRRRR!??

I can just see your kids during this homeowrk time…it sounds so familiar!
And yes, I’m smiling, but only because I know deep down you love all this!

Ooo! Homework whining! Something for me to look forward to once the summer vacation whining is done.
