So does a video post qualify as Wordless Wednesday? I don’t think so. Especially when I post a Top Ten list with it.
But it’s still funny.
And we need funny because today? Our septic tank is out to get us.
Right now I cannot take – but DESPERATELY need – a shower.
(I mean it. I DESPERATELY needed one yesterday, but I was too busy witnessing history. And when I was done doing that, well, I was just so COZY in my jammies.)
I can’t take a shower – or flush the toilet or run the dishwasher or wash clothes – because all the pipes in the house have decided to boycott the septic tank and deposit their contents under the basement floor. Where they (the contents, no matter how icky) bubble up and puddle on the cement.
You can see why we need a laugh.
That’s why I love this video, along with most of the series that comes with it. There’s a lot of unfunny stuff masquerading as funny on YouTube. But this stuff’s funny, I don’t care who ya are.
Wait a minute. Actually, it might not be funny to you if…
1. You hate Harry Potter and are certain that viewing anything related to the books and/or movies will jeopardize your salvation.
You know who you are, but I’ll protect your identity with an alias. So anyhoo, Cedric, you might want to click away now. And go pray for me.
2. You’re a puppet hater.
I, on the other hand, love puppets. I’m sure this is due to a long and illustrious puppeteering history in my family.
Not really. But I did a lot of puppet stuff – in Portuguese and Spanish! – on short-term mission trips. And my sis was actually on a youth group puppet team.
With a van and puppet trailer and everything.
Yeah. She’s a dork.
NO! Not really! (Love ya, Suzy. By the way, can you watch the kids for me next week? And can I come take a shower at your house?)
3. While you don’t actually HATE Harry Potter, you’ve been living under a rock and have never experienced any of the books or movies.
4. I don’t have a Number 4. Or #’s 5-10.
Truly, I can only think of three (3) reasons why you wouldn’t like this.
Oh yeah. One more:
You’ve “moved beyond” fifth-grade humor.
Whatever.

Ok, even though I've been living under a rock and not dealt with Harry Potter in any way, I still found that very funny. And I hope you get everything fixed right away. I would have moved myself and the kids into a hotel by now; you're a good woman.

Thank you for commiserating with me about the septic tank. The good news? We got a septic company out here today and it's FIXED! Showers for everyone!
If it hadn't been taken care of today, I might've done the hotel thing though.

Bubbling, oozing septic tanks…I am so sorry. The video frightened me but then I am afraid of puppets so I shouldn't have watched, and you did warn us. Still, the septic issue is more frightening. I hope that is fixed soon. I grew up with these septic nightmares…oozing lawns…sump pumps. Good times…

We do this sort of thing in the car as a family. One of us starts a rhythmic noise and the rest chip in until we have a real groove going. Great fun.
