What’ve I been up to? Overachieving. And you?

October 11th, 2008 · 3 Comments · Humor: You're laughing WITH me, right?

If you’ve come to my blog front door over the last couple days, you know that I haven’t been home. NO, I haven’t been avoiding you. I’ve just been really busy.

Mostly power washing the inside of my skull.

But in spite of all the time I’ve devoted to converting my nose into a snot fountain, I’ve managed to fit in some other accomplishments that I’d like to share with you:

1) Successfully put off doing even one load of laundry in the past five days, resulting in my son running out of clean shirts and me running out of sweatpants.

(The kid prefers to wear one shirt per week anyway, but my sweats? Are a crisis.)

2) Made the discovery, while helping Charlie put a roof on a treehouse, that I am no longer twelve years old. In my mind, I think I can still scramble all over a tree like I did as a kid. But my body says, Nay, nay.

3) Selflessly served my family by making dinner for them this evening. I fed everyone frozen ravioli.

(YES, I cooked it. What do you mean by that?)

On top of the ravioli: Bertolli Pasta Sauce from a jar. Sprinkled with Kraft Parmesan Cheese.

My kids declared it the Best. Thing. I. Have. Ever. Cooked. For. Them.

Ever. Ever. Ever.

I don’t know if I should be insulted or flattered…

4) Came to understand that in spite of my college computer classes and my intensive study in foreign language and linguistics, I can neither comprehend nor produce html that actually tells my blog platform to do what I want it to do.

I’ve got a lot more to say about #4, but for now I’ll just admit that I fought the blog, and the blog won. Trying to move to a self-hosted WordPress blog by the end of October will take all of my time and every last brain cell – and even then I’ll probably end up paying someone else to do it for me.

Futility, thy name is web design.

Sooooo, how are you?

Hey, I love Bertolli pasta sauce. Try it with cheese filled tortellini. What could be easier?

I am also fighting with my blog and considering moving to WordPress.
