Can I take a mulligan on the morning?

October 2nd, 2008 · 6 Comments · Bringin the crazy, My musings

D’ja ever have one of those days when you feel agitated and jittery and it seems like you’re forgetting something Really Important so you wander around the house trying to find something fun to do to take your mind off it?

No? Just me?

Okay, then let me acquaint you with my neurosis.

I feel all anxious today.

Of course, I could blame it on lack of caffeine. I still have only one cup of coffee in my system. Getting ready to chug the second one, then maybe I’ll feel GREAT.

Then again, maybe it’s the exercise I should be doing right now all by myself with no buddy to harangue motivate me since Charlie’s in England. Or the nap that would probably do me a world of good and get rid of my allergy headache.

Or the Very Important tasks that could drive traffic to my blog and make me a bazillion dollars. Ooooh, I pick that! A bazillion dollars could buy me a lot of yoga pants and t-shirts without bleach stains on them. (Guess what I’m wearing right now.)

.

So that’s what I’ve done so far this morning, I’ve read email and comments, checked facebook, looked at a couple of blogs and clicked through links to new blogs and tried to decide if I wanted to subscribe to their feeds or not, and spent thirty fruitless minutes attempting to put a new button in the sidebar of my blog. (Curse you, WordPress.com!)

So far… I’m batting .000.

(Check it out: A baseball analogy from me! And I think I might even be using it correctly!)

.

Right now I’m eating pumpkin crisp from the recipe that I got from Leigh Ann yesterday. It’s awesome. Like upside-down pumpkin pie. And totally nonfat. (Yeah…)

.

.

I bet you didn’t come here for a play-by-play of my morning.

But I think I do have a point:

I’ve written before about how I naturally run away from processing what’s really bothering me. That seems to be what I’m doing today.

Now if I could just figure out what I DO need to process.

I’ll have to get back to you. Maybe I need another cup of coffee…

And more pumpkin crisp.

I need some pumpkin crisp…but I’m in Vegas. I doubt I’ll be able to find any here. It’s on my agenda, though…”Things I Must Do the Second We Return to the East Coast!”

Glad you liked it…it’s one of our favorites. And I’m loving your site…will be back to peruse some more…

I’m glad I’m not the only who has issues with adding buttons in Wordpreess :-)

Well, we ALL have those days, trying to figure out what we’re missing, messing around on the computer.

I read once that lighting a vanilla candle can ease anxiety so you can calm down to figure out what you’re anxious about.

My advice? Definitely have another cup of coffee…then hop over to many sparkling gems to read her post on worry. She drew out some good reflections from the scriptures. I’ve posted her link on my site too.

Hope you can pinpoint what it is. Sometimes it is those very moments that prelude a great breakthrough for me!

How can anyone function on only one cup of coffee? What are you thinking???

Seriously, check out manysparklinggems! She’s so good with worry! (And fear, too)

I have the same trouble with Typepad. I cannot insert a couple of little awards that I’ve gotten into my sidebar to save my life.
