Your reason #1 hits so close to home for me. I have lived on the edge financially, waiting for Him to provide, and in the process we found we gave a large percentage of our income away. But I have noticed that with more resources comes the temptation to less reliance on God and less sacrificial giving. I also loved to hear about how the Spirit prompted you. The Spirit indwells us and He is working all the time...but we so rarely hear about that from folks. Either people aren't tuned into the Spirit, or people are scared to share...
